T(w)een World

For all their unpredictability—in fact, because of it—we love teens and tweens. From week to week, physical, emotional, and social changes rock their world and send them careening from one identity, friend group, or obsession to another. Yet even in the midst of this seismic activity, each teen has a Core Voice we can find our way to. You hear and experience their fears, passions, attitudes, and humor, helping you understand the challenges that drive their behaviors.

We take care to consider and speak to cultural identities—such as ethnicity, religion, family composition, regional influences, sexuality, and academic focus—because understanding cultural context and the details of emerging identities is key to interpreting responses. Since teens and tweens are often more comfortable online, research may utilize a variety of media, including video, photos, and MP3s to help them tell their story.

Tweens are both fiercely nostalgic about the childhood they see rapidly disappearing and nervously excited about the "grown-up" adventures they expect are just around the corner. We make no assumptions, letting tweens show us their comfortable level of communication and carefully pursuing your objectives on a plane that feels safe for the kids.
